Police Station Representation

If you are a suspect or person of interest in a criminal investigation, the Police may contact you to provide a statement. This can be done on a voluntary basis or the Police could arrest you and require that you accompany them.

Our office is routinely instructed by clients who are under investigation from the Police, but have not yet been charged. Lawyers can act as a layer of protection between between the client and the Police, ensuring that our clients understand their right not to make a statement and obtaining additional information from the Police before making a decision on the best way to respond to any Police enquiry.

If appropriate, we will be present at any Police interview to ensure our client’s rights are protected.

Communicating with the police on your behalf so that you do not incriminate yourself;
Obtaining any additional information from the Police to make an informed decision about whether you should give an interview;
Ensuring that you are not arrested at your home or place of work; and
